
Gombe SSG visits United, donates N1 million ahead of NPFL clash with Kwara
The Secretary to Gombe State Government (SSG) Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi has recently donated N1 million to Gombe United Football Club to boost its morale and performance. In addition, he also attended the club’s training to show his support ahead of the Club’s away to Ilorin to Kwara United in the Match day 10 of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
According to the SSG, the act is deliberate and aimed at encouraging the club which has lost 5 out of the 9 games played in the 2023/2024 campaign. Addressing the players and management of the club shortly after Thursday’s training session, Njodi urged the club to remain focused and not to be deterred by recent setbacks.

The SSG tasked the team to redouble their effort and improve their performance to make the state their fans proud. He announced a personal donation of one million Naira to the team, assuring that state governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya will continue to support the team in every way possible.
“You must work hard and always go for the goal in both your home and away matches. Go and make Gombe State proud” Njodi added.
The Elated management team of Gombe United and players appreciated the visit of the chief scribe to their training session and his kind gesture of donating to the club. Stating that the visit is a real morale booster for the team.
