ValueJet Cup: Sporting Lagos, Remo Stars Book Final Tickets
Sporting Lagos and Remo Stars have secured their places in the final of the ValueJet Cup after impressive victories in their respective semi-final clashes today. The two sides produced composed performances to overcome Abia Warriors and Rangers International respectively, setting up a final that promises plenty of intrigue.
Sporting Lagos booked their place with a narrow 1-0 victory over Abia Warriors. The decisive moment came just before half-time when Aliyu Mohammed produced a sharp near-post finish in the 45th minute to put the Tech Boys ahead.
Abia Warriors struggled to find a response after the interval as Sporting Lagos maintained their advantage. The Tech Boys remained disciplined defensively and protected their lead until the final whistle, securing their place in the final with a hard-fought victory.
In the other ValueJet Cup semi-final, Remo Stars defeated Rangers International 2-0 in a commanding display.
The Sky Blue Stars made the perfect start when Olalekan Malik curled home an excellent free-kick in the fifth minute to give Remo an early advantage.

Remo Stars doubled their lead in the second half through Olamilekan Mahmud, who reacted quickest after the Rangers goalkeeper had saved the initial effort. The two-goal advantage proved decisive as Remo controlled the remainder of the contest and saw out the victory.
The results set up a final between Sporting Lagos and Remo Stars, with both clubs now one victory away from lifting the ValueJet Cup. Sporting Lagos will take confidence from their defensive resilience knowing fully well the NPFL starts very soon, while Remo Stars will head into the final encouraged by their attacking efficiency and solid defensive display.
