2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier: Moses Simon seeks forgiveness for winless start, vows fiery return
Days following the Super Eagles of Nigeria’s 1-1 draw in the 2026 World Cup qualifier against Lesotho and Zimbabwe, winger Moses Simon has issued apologies to Nigerians for their failure to win in the African World Cup qualifier.
In a statement posted by the winger, who served as captain during the match against the warriors of Zimbabwe in Rwanda, on his official X (Twitter) account,
“Not the result we wanted, but we will surely bounce back,” Simon posted. “Big apologies to our fans; you deserve better than the performance against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.”
“We have overcome many challenges in the past, and now is the time to reflect and come back stronger,” he concluded.

Moses Simon has since returned to his French club, Nantes, to continue their journey in the French Ligue 1.
