The Nairobi-based university was drawn in Group B alongside Lagos State University (Nigeria), the University of Ghana (Ghana), and Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE).

On matchday one, Kenyatta University shared the spoils with co-hosts LASU, while FUOYE and the University of Ghana settled for a draw.

LASU defeated their Nigerian compatriots FUOYE 2-1 to record their first win. LASU initially controlled the match, with Emmanuel Okoro scoring the opening goal in the 20th minute. FUOYE equalised with a goal from Teniola Samuel before half-time.

The match then turned into a fast-paced battle for dominance, culminating in LASU securing the win with a late goal from Elijah Ayeni.

On the same day, Kenyatta University secured their first victory by defeating the University of Ghana.

Meanwhile, the final day was filled with drama as FUOYE thrashed the defending champions, Kenyatta, with a 3-0 win, and LASU edged past the University of Ghana.

LASU topped Group B with seven points, followed by FUOYE and Kenyatta with four points each, while the University of Ghana finished with one point.

Eneche, renowned for his prowess during his tenure with the university team, FUOYE Dazzlers, emerges as a formidable striker, striking fear into the hearts of defenders.

Having contested nearly 20 games with the Dazzlers, Eneche contributed to 12 goals and showcased his adept goal-scoring abilities. His proficiency in hold-up play, particularly when deployed as a double striker, coupled with his prowess in aerial duels due to his height, adds to his skill set.

In an interview with Made in Africa Sport, Eneche Enoch expressed his joy about joining the new team.

“I give all glory to God for this dream come true of becoming a professional footballer. I’m delighted to have joined a club that will compete in the third tier (NLO) of the Nigerian league.

After much hard work and dedication, it’s a done deal for me, and I am determined to play and strive for the best.

I want to express my gratitude to my school coach, Blessing Ayodeji, who has never given up on me.

My thanks also go to my teammates, who have played a significant role in this dream coming true. I hope they receive positive news soon,” he said.

Green Lock FC, based in Abuja, is set to participate in the upcoming NLO cup commencing on the 24th of November 2023. Additionally, the team will engage in both national and international scouting programs to elevate players to higher professional teams abroad.
