WAFU B U20 Boys Cup: Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire Secure Semi-Final Berths

The Young Stallions of Burkina Faso took the lead in the 11th minute through Abdoul Ouattara. Libo Ismaël Seone added a second goal in the 74th minute to seal the victory.

Côte d’Ivoire’s Baby Elephants were also in dominant form, scoring four goals against Niger. Petcho Camara, Oumar Konaté, and Abdramane Konaté all scored for the Ivorians, while Niger’s captain pulled one back in the 64th minute.

The results mean that Burkina Faso and Côte d’Ivoire have both qualified for the semi-finals, while Ghana and Niger will battle for the final spot on Thursday.

Burkina Faso will face the winner of Group B, while Côte d’Ivoire will take on the runner-up of Group B.

The semi-finals will be played on Saturday, with the final taking place on Sunday.

Burkina Faso’s win over Ghana was their second of the tournament, having also beaten Togo 2-0 in their opening match. Côte d’Ivoire’s win over Niger was their first of the tournament, having drawn their opening match against Togo.

The WAFU B U20 Boys Cup is a regional tournament for under-20 teams from West Africa. The tournament is being held in Côte d’Ivoire from July 13-23.
