NPFL board set for new era under Elegbeleye

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has constituted a new board for the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), madeinafricasport.com reports.

The new board will be headed by Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye, who previously served as chairman of the Interim Management Committee (IMC).

The other members of the board are Mallam Mohammed Nasiru Sa’idu, Barr. Poubeni Ogun, Mr. Daniel Amokachi, Dr. Okey Kpalukwu, Mallam Suleiman Umar, and Mr. Dominic Iorfa.

Barr. Danlami Ibrahim will be the Secretary/Legal Adviser, and Prince Davidson Owumi will serve as the Chief Operating Officer.

The newly appointed board will have a two-year tenure, the same as the boards of the Nigeria National League, the Nigeria Women’s Football League, and the Nigeria Nation-Wide League One.

Elegbeleye is a former deputy chairman of the House of Representatives’ Committee on Youth and Sports, and also a former Director-General of the National Sports Commission.

He headed the IMC that executed the last NPFL in an abridged format season and the Championship playoffs and is now tasked with overseeing the running of the league again and ensuring that it meets the highest standards of professionalism.
